In my defense though my doc tells me I am "at that age" where my eyesight is getting bad. Apparently at 40 your warranty runs out and stuff just starts falling off. Either way my limited attention or my failing eyesight resulted in this monster in today's harvest.
This however explains the strange looks I got years ago when I presented my Mennonite neighbors with one of two massive zucchinis from my garden. They were the first I had grown and I was so proud. The one I gave them would have made three of this one. They were always bringing us veggies and I wanted to return the favor so I babied my mega-cchini until it was HUGE then carried it to their front door grinning like I had won the lottery. They were very gracious but I did pick up on the quizzical looks, I just figured they were marveling at my abilities. Now I realize they were probably wondering if I needed adult supervision. The answer is yes.
Here's the thing though, those big zucchini might not be the most delicate or tastiest to grill but they are perfect for the best dish you can make with a zucchini.
